Undergraduate thesis, IAIN Padangsidimpuan. The presence of the BPJS Health program which is widely discussed by various parties, makes the authors interested in conducting this research where in BPJS Kesehatan there is the principle of compulsory insurance. With the obligation of all Indonesian people as members of BPJS Health, it is very necessary to have a mechanism that is in accordance with the demands of Islamic law, considering that the majority of Indonesia's population is Muslim. The formulation of the problem is how the BPJS Health mechanism is viewed from the concept of sharia insurance based on the DSN fatwa No.21/DSNMUI/X/2001 with the aim of knowing whether the mechanism implemented by BPJS Health is in accordance with the concepts contained in sharia insurance. The discussion of this research relates to the field of law in the field of economics (muamalah). In this regard, the approach taken is theories related to sharia insurance and BPJS Health. In writing this thesis, the author uses a type of library research, namely researching through sources that are related to BPJS Health and sharia insurance. The nature of this research is descriptive analysis using a concept analysis approach. Then the data obtained were analyzed based on the normative-concept. Finally, the author concludes that the BPJS Health program when viewed from the concept already reflects the concept of mutual help, especially considering that health is one part of maqasid sharia. However, judging from the principle of compulsory participation by looking at the majority of the Indonesian population is Muslim, there are still several BPJS Health mechanisms that are not in accordance with the principles of sharia insurance, including monthly premiums that are still too high and the imposition of sanctions for those who do not pay, the equity principle which still contains injustice, is not fair. there is a separation of tabarru' funds and participant funds, and the funds are forfeited.
